Mosspaw bowed her head, teeth gritted as a tear trickled down her cheek. She sat on her rock outside the apprentice's den, and sorrow gripped at her black heart. Much had changed in the past moons, almost too much for the she-cat to bear. Navypaw was gone, and she couldn't even go look for him because Sablestar had forbidden it. Mosspaw had become something she had never even though of being. A mindless machine with nothing to serve in life but her Clan, no family, no friends, no love. An enemy with nothing to lose. A cold but grim satisfaction clutched at her, and she realized she had become what she feared the most. The old Mosspaw was gone. Maybe forever. She lifted her head slightly when she heard pawsteps approaching.

"Mosspaw." Eagletalon meowed, his amber eyes soft with concern. "Mosspaw, your not yourself." He mewed, having arrived at her side. "What is troubling your heart?" He asked, sitting down beside the apprentice.

Mosspaw took a deep breath, and sighed. "Its just...the Wanderers changed me, Eagletalon. I just don't feel like I fit in anymore...and on top of that, Navypaw dissapeared. I have become what I feared most, Eagletalon. An enemy...with nothing to lose. No family, no love. Nothing. And that alone makes me so...different. I don't feel like I belong here," she mewed, letting her emotions go and looking in despair at the warrior.

Eagletalon sighed and drped his tail across Mosspaw's shoulders. "Mosspaw, I know that it has been hard for you to lose Navypaw. It has been for everyone. But that does not mean that there is nothing left for you." He paused, searching for the right words. "You have me, a friend. Does that count for something? You have the Clan, who all care for you." Eagletalon stopped, then took a deep breath and purred, letting it rumble through his chest. "Mosspaw, though Sablestar has forbidden it, I can help you search for Navypaw, I will."

"Really?" asked Mosspaw in dibelijef. Then she saddened. "But the Clan thinks I'm a traitor."

"It does not matter what the Clan thinks Mosspaw, all that matters is what you think of yourself." He purred, nudging the apprentice. "Come now, you can't be down under the weather when I'm around, so cheer up already before I wrestle some sense into you."

Mosspaw looked over her shoulder suddenly, hearing another cat approaching. "Phantom?" she asked, recognizing his scent.

"I'll join your search for my son as well." A tom's voice sounded as a sleek, slender black tom padded up beside Eagletalon and Mosspaw. "Even if Sablestar forbids it, Navypaw is my son, and it has been to long since he has been away from home." Phantom meowed.

Eagletalon smiled at Phantom, and nodded. "Where should we search first?" He meowed, looking at Phantom with friendship and the want to help his friends in his eyes.

"Hey! I'm going too. I'm aloud to go out of camp with a warrior!" Mosspaw protested hotly, eyes gleaming with laughter.

Phantom's icey blue eyes turned to Mosspaw, first cold, then turned a bit more brighter with amusement. "Yes, we won't forget you, Mosspaw. But I think---" Phantom was cut off as he heard some pawsteps, along with a few thumps nearby the camp.

Eagletalon's ears swivled as he caught the sound too. The wind was blowing the wrong way though so they could not scent who it was.

Phantom got to his paws silently, his fur bristling, and unsheathing his claws if it was an intruder.
A small, black shape with blue eyes similar to Phantom's limped heavily into the camp, most of his ribs visible, his breathing not to well. He stumbled a few times, but determinedly limped to the three. A little less than a tail-length away from the three cats, the young tom collapsed onto the ground. "I...I made it..home." The tom meowed weakly.
Phantom's eyes grew wide with disbelief, quickly sheathing his claws, his fur lying flat. He opened his mouth to speak, but he seemed to loose his voice.

Eagletalon stood bolt upright. "Navypaw!" He yowled loud enough for the rest of the Clan to hear. "Oh DreamClan, what has happened to you?" He asked, rushing to the apprentices side.

"Navypaw!!" Phantom yowled also, not caring if he woke up somebody. Phantom rushed over after Eagletalon, gently picking up his son by the scruff and letting him lean on Phantom for some support.
Navypaw took a few painful deep breaths before getting a near-steady breathing pace, feeling grateful have support. "A few of the...Wanderers took me far, far away from the Clan's...territories, but I....got away, and started back. It took...a few moons to just get near here. It...took longer than it would have because....I haven't been outside RageClan territory. On the way over, about a moon and a half ago....I fell off a really high ledge, and landed in the wrong position....and twisted my right hind leg....so I can't walk on it. But when I got....near AshClan, I knew I was nearby RageClan, so I followed...the borders, finding home again. It took about a little over....a day to just get to camp, because...of my leg. And it was extremely hard to find food, especially after my leg." Navypaw told them, taking breaths in between each sentence. "And I couldn't take prey from...other Clans. I knew it...was against the warrior code to steal...prey. But I'm here, aren't I?" Navypaw mewed. "And..where's Mosspaw?"
Phantom's normally cold, icey blue eyes were soft. "She's here, don't fret." He answered his son. "How thin does Navypaw look? I can't see him while he's leaning on me." He asked Eagletalon.
