Duskpaw lied down under the shade of overgrown brush. The drought had become intense, the prey was scarce, and she had no thought of DreamClan at all. 'Like I ever believed in DreamClan.' She thought smugly. She had always known there was no warrior ancestors and she was finally satisfied that the clans were starting to think and believe the same way. Mudpaw trodded lightly down to Fossil Valley. He was supposed to meet Shadowtail, mentor and father, there. When he caught the familiar scent of his sister, a plan came into mind. 'I should sneak up on her, since the wind is blowing my way.' He thought, supressing his laughter. He was hiding is the shadows, as if he weren't there, camoflauged against the brown. He lunged and landed ontop of his sister, but Duskpaw reacted well. She rolled around, and pinned Mudpaw down, sinking her teeth into his neck, although not striking to kill. She had known her brother was coming. He made too much noise. Mudpaw almost hissed in fear. He just had fully realized that his sister could be lethal, with the proper training. "Shouldn't sneak up on me like that." She teased her brother, still ontop of him. Suddenly, she turned and hissed violently, hearing a rustling. All else was silent and the wind was still blowing away from the new apprentices. But they were smart enough to know that something big was coming their way.

A low hiss curled through the air with a deadly feeling as black furred bodice detatched from the shadows of a nearby rocky overhang. Shadowtail padded over toward his two kits, yellow eyes narrowed in the evidence of a short temper. The lack of food and water had been the reason for that. And seeing his son and daughter now did nothing to supress the anger that was just waiting to overflow and flood his senses. 'I do not need my kits tearing each other apart. Use your energy for the good of the Clan by hunting, or chasing away loners and kittypets. Whichever you see first.' Muscles rippled beneath the black fur as Shadowtail seated himself, staring contradictingly at Duskpaw and Mudpaw as he awaited their response.

Little white paws padded along the fossils in clan territory. Soldier was a small white kit with barely noticable light brown spots and blue eyes, she had gotten seperated from Gizmo, her larger and older brother, and was now lost somewhere in RageClan territory. Just as she rounded the corner, Soldier stopped quick, her back paw knocking a pebble out of place as she froze, scared of what the large clan cats would do if they'd heard or seen her.
OoC: I've been desperate to use her x3 go easy though, Soldier's only 4 moons lol

OOC: Lol. Mudpaw will, not Duskpaw though.
BIC: Mudpaw looked up at his father. "Sorry," He muttered, head bowed, tail curled around his paws. Duskpaw looked up at her father with a wide, defiant look. "Shouldn't we also practice on how to fight?" She asked, mocking her father. She was a cat who took the lead, liked the last word, and would not be bossed by anyone. Mudpaw took a sideways glance at his sister, wondering why she was challenging their father. 'What is she doing...?' He thought, puzzled. "Also, you are not my mentor," Duskpaw's thoughts curled in revulsion at the thought of her mentor. "Lightfoot (?) told me to be here for him to meet me so we could practice on how to fight." Her lip curled maliciously, already thinking of war, death, and vengance. Mudpaw finally looked up, startled. He always knew his sister was so difficult, but did not expect this behavior from her. He hissed quietly, "Are you trying for trouble?" He asked, a bit annoyed that his sister was acting so ignorant. "He started it." She replied back, still glaring at her father. Mudpaw was going to argue moer when he heard a shift in the pebbles, and he scented another cat, a stranger. Quick as sound, he found Solider, and pinned her down. He took a quick nip at her neck to warn her not to come again. Still ontop of her, he snarled, "Why are you tresspassing onto RageClan territory?" Duskpaw snarled, following her brother. When she was beside him, she snarled again. "Why didn't you kill it?" She asked, incredulous.

"Because killing a cat, especially one so young, without reason is against the warrior code." Lightfoot said as he came up behind his apprentice. "Mudpaw had the right approach, though he didn't need to show such force on a young cat." He stated before turning once again to the tresspasser. "Why are you in Rageclan territory?" He asked calmly before also looking over at the deputy, Shadowtail.

Soldier squealed when she was pinned down and snarled at. The young, snow white kit squirmed under the bigger cats paws before slipping free and puffing up her fur, trying to look tough, though she wasn't hardly "I got lost, I didn't mean to though" Her voice squeaked with the fear she had originally tried to hide. Meanwhile, Gizmo was occupying himself with searching the entire territory for Soldier.

Mudpaw glanced at Lightfoot, and then his father, then back to Lightfoot. Slowly, he let Solider go. "I'm sorry." He muttered, his eyes showing kindness, and a bit of surprise. Duskpaw looked at this scene with disgust. "She was tresspassing. You shoudn't be saying sorry." She critqued her brother. She turned to Lightfoot. Her lip curled. "Doesn't your precious warrior code also say, protect your boundries? Ward off any intruders? Blahblahblah..." She slightly emphasized your, meaning she'll put up with the rules for now, but she does not intend to stick to them. Mudpaw looked at his sister, and just shook his head sadly. He loved his sister, but she had her own way, and already they were starting to grow apart.

Shadowtail had been glaring maliciously at Duskpaw for her back talk. If it was one thing she needed to learn, it was to respect her father. Fighting was part of becoming a warrior, obviously. But one needed not to kill there own brother to acheive such skills as he felt he posessed. The deputy was about to challenge his daughter to duel, when the small cat came from the shadows. The anger in his gaze was redirected toward the fool loner that had wandered upon there small company. Ivory claws curved into the soil beneath his black paws as Shadowtail heaved himself to a standing position. At the ready to attack the intruder. But Mudpaw beat him to it and, to Shadowtail's disappointment, did naught but a warning nip. The loner should be flayed.

OOC: Duskpaw wanted to kill the loner. lol
Mudpaw looked up at his father, respect glowing with the depths of his eyes. "Sorry," He muttered, though not sorry at all. Except Lightfoot, this little one might not have lived another day. Duskpaw glared at her father. "You had no right to nip my brother," She hissed, feeling her obligation to protect him because his sincerety to that loner was weakness to her. "He attacked her first. "He had done nothing wrong except beat you; which I find poor. I mean, aren't you the mentor?" She taunted, her eyes challenging her father.

Soldier was curled up where she'd backed away, watching them bicker amongst themselves. Maybe now is my chance She, once more making sure eyes were not on her, stood up and as quietly as possible tried to back into the shadows of the rock.

Lightfoot sighed as he watched the father and daughter argue. "Where do you live?" He asked turning his attention back to the kit as he noticed it backing away. Lightly, he jumped behind the kit and gave a small snarl to tell it not to try and escape. "We can't just let you leave without knowing where you're from. Even though you are just a kit, you could be a spy for another clan. Every clan is going to some extreme matters due to the drought." He said as his eyes glanced at the kit. He looked towards his apprentice, with a small growl. "Duskpaw, go let Jasminestar know if this." He said then added, "It's not a suggestion it's an order, one that you should follow if you ever hope of being made a warrior in this clan."

Soldier let out a surprised squeak and turned to look at Lightfoot Where's Gizmo when you need him? She puffed out her chest to look a little bigger and put on a brace face "I'm not telling you, my name is Soldier, I'm not from a clan I travel with my brother Gizmo, he wouldn't like it if I told a bunch of mean old RageClanners where we lived!" Soldier snapped, feeling braver than before and as far as she was concerned, RageClan was the harshest clan.
