Echostar could hardly keep her paws still. She had practically just become the leader of Fernclan, and it was time for a gathering. It was so great being able to go see Flamepelt without being afraid to be questioned by someone. And,her clan actually respected her.She wasn't the best pick for the clan leader, but she had always been popular among her clanmates. She signaled to her clan to make their way through the trees to ten stones. They were the first clan there, but she could scent the other clans nearby. Echostar leaped up to the stone on which the Fernclan leaders sat.It felt good to be up their, looking down on the cats she led. Then she remembered, what would she say to the other clans?Would the other clan leaders like her?She certainly hoped so.Before she had the time to think these things over, the other clans began to pour into the clearing around the Ten Stones.

Cloudflight filed in after her Clan with a bored expression on her face. Truly, she was feeling a great deal of anguish at being finally taken from her spot as leader. She had held it for a long while, but had done nothing spectacular in her rule. She supposed it was for the best - she was still only a young warrior, and much too young to lead her Clan without prejudice. The black-and-white FernClanner glanced up Echostar and felt a surge of some unknown emotion.
Relief? Happiness? Pride? Ah, that was it. Cloudflight had always admired the other warrior's skill and along with the rest of the Clan did not think of her in a negative light at all. She was happy for the other. Such a change in her usual personality made the FernClanner's maw break out into a wry smile. She sat herself down upon her haunches and glanced around, emotion returning to her face.

Smolderstone, Ivypetal and Northfrost entered the clearing with AshClan. Smolderstone stretched his tired joints before taking a seat among his clanmates. He hoped tonight that Bramblestar would address the death of Featherstep from the strange tear sickness, but he wasn't sure the Clan would agree with that. Many felt it may make the Clan look too vulnerable or weak. Even the weathered tom knew it may not be the wisest decison, especially to share with the enemy RageClan. They had been quiet for many moons, it was inevitable... they had to be planning something. His gut just felt it.
Next to him Ivypetal settled down uneasily, still traumatized by her mother's death. Northfrost nuzzled her gently in comfort. Afterall, Northfrost had lost his mother as well, he knew her pain. As the son of Smolderstone, Northfrost was automatically expected to agree with his fathers opinions on telling the rest of the Clans about the strange ailment found in AshClan. But he most certainly did not believe in this. One cat's death did not mean the whole clan would die. Featherstep was old anyhow, they all knew it would not be much longer for her. Perhaps this would be the only occurance and everyone was getting worked up for nothing...

Flamestar padded calmly into the clearing, BlazeClan cats trailing behind him. The BlazeClan cats were quite few, actually. Just before he had become leader, a strange sickness hit BlazeClan, taking a few BlazeClan elders, kits, and even a young warrior. It wasn't something he'd encountered before during his time as medicine cat. And it wasn't something that he was about to tell all the other clans. He didn't want BlazeClan to look weak, especially when he was just starting his term as leader. Whatever the illness was, they would find a cure, and everything will go back to normal. Unfortunately, he had a sinking feeling that he was wrong.
He quickly took his place on the stone that belonged to past BlazeClan leaders, nodding a greeting to Echostar, but the greeting they shared contained more than just a greeting. He felt very undeserving of the position bestowed upon him. No one ever questioned his loyalty, because they never had reason to. But they didn't know of the relationship that he shared with Echostar that went much farther than friendship.
He shook his head to clear it of all thoughts, instead focusing his attention on the arriving cats. This was his first gathering as leader, and he didn't want to be distracted.

Timbercreek followed Flamestar and the rest of BlazeClan into the clearing. Starpelt shone brightly as the Warrior ancestors watched over the sacred Gathering. Her icy blue eyes clouded over for a moment, wondering if DreamClan could really be watching over BlazeClan. After some of the horrid illness she'd seen over the past few days, it seemed they'd been abandoned. The femme made her way towards some familiar AshClanners to share news...only the good news of course. However, she noticed they looked a bit down. Northfrost twitched his tail impatiently, not speaking and Ivypetal sat close by him, her head low. Maybe this isn't the best time... The BlazeClan femme backed away and joined her own Clanmates, without saying a word to the AshClanners. Something was odd here tonight...

Shimmerpaw sat down near the back of the group, closest to her clan."Great." she muttered to herself."A big crowd of cats that stink." Hopefully the meeting would start soon.
Echostar couldn't believe her eyes.Flamepelt was a leader now too? Her face revealed nothing, and she meowed a casual greeting in return as he passed her,but on the inside she was screaming in shock. She felt a sense of pride that her secret mate had become leader, but she also couldn't believe the coincidence. After a while she asked the other leaders,"Shall we begin?" None of them objected,so she yowled for silence. She didn't want to offer for Flamestar to go first, that would be to suspicios. She knew Bramblestar, the leader of Blazeclan,so she asked," Bramblestar, would you like to go first?" and stepped back.

Just then a slender orange-and-white tabby dashed into the clearing. "Wait!" she called, "Do not start!" She ran towards the other leaders and leaped up to take her place beside them. Her chest heaved as she murmured an apology and then said, a little louder, "There was confusion over leadership." The broud-shouldered she-cat had not been deputy nor had she ever had a spot among the Clan's high branches. The revelation that she was to be DuneClan's leader had startled her.
Amberstar turned to face the other cats as her Clan filed into the crowd behind her. She could spot Opalstone, who was expecting kits - Amberstar still did not know why she insisted on coming anyway - moving away from her Clanmates, apparently in search of someone. And Yellowclaw stood lashing his tail and staring up at her with obvious resentment. He had thought himself the obvious choice for leader - he had been wrong, of course. The female had to hold back the smile that itched to crawl across her maw.
Noblefire sighed as he trudged along, head down. He felt a strange shame at being back here once again, only this time as an elder. As his brother Thrushpelt strided alongside him, he couldn't help but wonder if he should have stayed as a warrior for longer. A cough welled up in his throat and he bit it back, glancing around curiously.

ooc: I just realized that both my leader chars are named Flamestar xD
ic: Flamestar, the Beachclan leader, dashed into the clearing, followed very closely by a group of Beachclan cats. He was still young and bursting with energy, close to being a senior warrior, but closer still to being a new warrior. He was quite schoked when he was chosen to be the new Beachclan leader. He leaped unto his spot on the stone that belonged to Beachclan, nodding a greeting to all the leaders.

"Okay, are we all here now?"Echostar asked."I didn't mean to start the meeting without anyone,I'm sorry."she appoligized Amberstar.Looking down on all the cats, she could pick out some familiar faces. Her own clan of course,a couple of Beachclan cats she had talked to at previous gatherings, and even the two other cats who had been on the patrol with Flamestar(the Blazeclan one)the day she had met him and they had first started seeing eachother.
OOC:Whoops, frostleaf is a leader now!DX lets just pretend the frostleaf part of this post never happened, hehe.

xx.//I don't mean to rush, or be obvious.]]
Northfrost flicked his tail impatiently, inadvertantly tapping Ivypetal's paw each time he did so. His pale blue orbs were iced over defensively. He knew some of these cats here could read emotions through eyes...the tom didn't like it, it made him feel violated and vulnerable. The pair sat silently mourning, though still alert to the environment surrounding them.
A tinge of marsh accompanied by a heavy salt water odor wafted playfully into Northfrost's nostrils. BeachClan's arrived, he noticed, skimming through the crowd to spot them. He noticed a femme he hadn't seen before crying at the edge of the clearing, his ears twitched intently in her direction. Perhaps she's experienced a death in her Clan? he wondered.

...xx...I got away with murder last night in the parking lot...xx...
Bramblestar, having already arrived with AshClan, sat with an air of dignified authority, though she also gave off the impression of friendliness with it. Her amber optics scanned the gathered cats with silent curiosity. It seemed as though neither BoulderClan, MeadowClan, and some others had arrived yet. They could wait for them, though. The night was still young. At the blunder of which Clan she led because of Echostar, Bramblestar could only chuckle with amusement. Raising a paw in Echostar's direction, she spoke. 'Don't fret about such things. We all make mistakes.' Bramblestar lifted her muzzle and scented the air, nodding with satisfaction. 'BoulderClan, MeadowClan, and BeachClan are here.'
Scorchstar took a moment to scan the cats below, then turned and looked back at her own Clan. It was startling, realizing she was the leader of her beloved Clan. DreamClan must have had mountains of faith in her to have bestowed such an honorable position on at her paws. Scorchstar would have never thought she would ever become leader, especially with her violent and nasty history. Yet she had gained control of her infamous temper, and became well-liked as a result. It was pleasing. Turning back towards the gathered cats, Scorchstar flicked her tail and led BoulderClan into the clearing. Leaving them to mingle, she padded over to the other leaders and leaped up to sit beside them, nodding in respect.
MeadowClan followed suit after BoulderClan. They had arrived just after Scorchstar led her Clan into the clearing below. Heatherstar looked around with violet optics, beaming with pleasure. She was leader. And wouldn't ask for anything else. She bounded into the clearing, MeadowClan trailing behind. Following Scorchstar's path, the creamy colored femme moved to sit beside the others. 'Greetings.' Heatherstar murmured, attempting to remain professional, but could not hide all of the excitement in her tone.

Amberstar's gaze lingered a heartbeat longer than usual on Bramblestar, the AshClan leader. For some reason the DuneClanner felt a strange familiarity with the other cat that she could not place. Shaking her head too slightly for anyone to notice, she spun towards the leaders. "M-May I start? Most are present.. and we are wasting moonlight," the she-cat mewed quietly.
She waited a beat and, hearing no objection to her words, turned to face the crowd of cats. It was hard to keep the tremor from her voice. "DuneClan is faring well for the season," she began, glancing rapidly around, "We have lost one of our warriors, Aridsand, although the circumstances of his death are unknown."
Amberstar wanted to be as honest as possible without hurting her Clan's reputation. Besides, they all knew Aridsand had been her littermate - surely they wouldn't jump to conclusions if she mentioned him. "We have a couple of new warriors," she continued, then spoke the names of the warriors in question, "About a quarter-moon ago a patrol stumbled onto a fox den. DuneClan have chased the fox out of our territory and into the Uncharted, but we fear he may be headed for the Clans again."
She took a deep breath, hoping no one would blame her Clan. "Th-that's.. all." She sat back down and gulped quietly. Surely no one would find fault with that speech!

Flamestar (the Blazeclan one) nodded a greeting to the new arrivals. He listened to Amberstar, waiting for her to finish. When she finished, he turned to the crowd. "Prey is running well in Blazeclan as well. We have a new apprentice, Blazingpaw." he said, in a loud and clear voice.
Blazingpaw beamed with pride when his name was mentioned. He hadn't really expected Flamestar to mention something as small as his apprenticeship to all the clans, but he was happy nonetheless.
" Everything else is well in Blazeclan." he hesitated, before stepping back. He had been considering mentioning the illness that was spreading in Blazeclan, but he had decided otherwise. They could cope without other clans getting any ideas about invading their camp.

OOC:Since frostleaf is a leader now,I'm just gonna have this happen XD so she is no longer in the crowd..
IC:Froststar had been the fifth leader to get on to her stone in the large cluster of the Ten Stones. She listened as the first two leaders spoke, but made no attempt to speak. She wanted to be right in the middle, the fifth cat to speak.Just like she was when she had arrived.
Echostar nodded and stepped back as Amberstar stepped forward to speak. After her went Flamestar, and she was overjoyed when she heard about Blazingkit's apprenticeship.Normally, she would have been happy for their clan, but not have really cared. This was different because Blazingkit was her and Flamestar's son.Their other two children lived in Fernclan with Echostar. As Flamestar stepped back no one else made a move to go next. She was nervous, but she decided to get it over with."I will go next,if no one else wishes to." Echostar stepped forward and looked down into the crowd of cats."Everything is fine in Fernclan as well. The prey is running well for this time of year, and we are healthy.I am happy to announce that Fernclan has also received two new apprentices;Mintpaw and Amberpaw."she mewed, sounding more confident than she had thought she would. It wasn't so bad speaking at a gathering. It was actually kind of fun to have all eyes on her as she spoke about the clan she now led.Echostar stepped back and wait expectingly for the next leader to talk.

...xx...This world will never be what I expected...xx...
Scorchstar flicked her sapphire gaze around at the leaders who had not spoken. Catching a small nod from Brambleface, the BoulderClan leader replied in kind and stepped forward to speak next. The femme paused after having gained their attention, then spoke. 'BoulderClan fares well. The prey seems satisfactory, and all are healthy. We have three new warriors; Wildspirit, Riverstripe, and...' Scorchstar paused for the briefest moment, hesitation at announcing the next name. Her disappointment still undeniably fresh. 'Bluffclaw. That is all.' The black feline stepped back, dipping her head in Heatherstar's direction. The cream-colored cat smiled slightly and padded up next. Violet optics scanned the gathered cats as she took her turn. 'All is well in MeadowClan. The source of water and prey is abundant And we have so far experienced no troubles." Though her report was short, it was good news. Heatherstar backed away and made room for the AshClan leader to take the spot. Bramblestar moved forward with deliberate slowness, reaching to edge of the stone. Her amber optics, piercing and bright in contrast to the surrounding darkness, shone with...sorrow, was it? Everything fell quiet, startlingly so, and naught could be heard spare for the rustle of branches in the trees. Bramblestar remained silent for several more heartbeats, then spoke. 'Prey runs sufficient, and all is as well as it can be. We have gained four new warriors. Fiercestep, Redfur, Coalpelt, and Blazingflame. Accompanied with this string of good news, I must reveal to the Clans a tragedy we have faced within our borders...' Bramblestar paused, taking a deep breath. She hoped she had phrased that last sentence right. Her amber eyes became misty, and her voice had the slightest quaver as she resumed speaking. 'It is my regret to announce to you that one of our best warriors and Clan-mates, Featherstep, has passed on to DreamClan.' Bramblestar stopped as gasps from below erupted. Mistypaw, an apprentice of RageClan, flicked her green eyes over to her brother, Smokepaw. The tom returned the glance, his own yellow optics wide with surprise. 'I never would have guessed...' Mistypaw murmured. Normally cold towards AshClan, the femme couldn't help but feel sorrow for the lost warrior. Featherstep was infamous. Smokepaw nodded in agreement. The tom was normally quiet, and this was no exception. ...xx...And if I don't belong, who would have guessed it...xx... [/blockquote]
