Well, I just was asked by a person on another site why TCOTF is so old, yet it only has 17,000 posts. So, I thought I should offer an explanation, since that person asked, I know others must be wondering. It is not because we are inactive or are just lazy and don't post. No, let me tell you about an event that I like to call, complete and total board erasure. We used to have a member here that I trusted very much, and thus made her a staff member. However, I logged in to TCOTF one day to find nothing but the banner still on the page. All the boards, all the posts, nearly 10,000 of them, were gone. Thus, if we still had our original posts from 2006 and early 2007 when the site was growing rapidly, and many of the people who have become literate RPers now were just sprouting their skills, we would have almost 30,000 posts. It really wrenches my heart when I think about all the history that was lost because I trusted someone too easily, who took away things that belonged not only to TCOTF, but to other members. As the anniversery of this even approaches, I just had this on my mind and needed to relay it to everyone. So now you all know what TCOTF has been through. We SURVIVED that. We REBUILT every single solitary board and posted 17,000 more times. When situations looked bleak, there were loyal members here to pull TCOTF through. This website has been through so much, and lost so many. Please, make it worth your time to stay and become a part of the living, fighting website, that is TCOTF. We will never die!
