Her pawsteps were light; her body movements were fluid and silent. The raven femme was unnoticed by the vole that was nibbling on a seed or something of the sort. Bright yellow audits were alert and didn't stray from her target. When it bent down to scramble for something else to munch on, her muscles bunched, and she pounced. While in mid-air, a rustling noise was made, and alerted the vole. It dashed off the second the femme's paws hit the ground. She growled, a sound that rumbled from her chest. Her eyes narrowed as she looked around, her jaws slightly parted, searching for the scent of whatever made her lose a meal. [/blockquote]

A streak of silver and white raced through the forest, paws making strong thudding noises everytime they hit the ground. Cloud's eyes were narrowed against the wind that beat against his fur. Then he stopped. He had caught the scent of prey. Prey was already very scarce. He didn't want this one to go to waste. He burst through a bush and landed beside the she-cat. He stopped, surprised. It wasn't everyday that you ran into another cat.

Sand colored paws hit the ground in a steady beat as a small, compact femme ran quickly through the undergrowth. Her dark brown eyes looked around, not finding anything interesting enough to focus on. Then she suddenly spotted two cats up ahead. There was another femme, her yellow optics narrowed slightly at a silver and white tom. "What have you done to ruffle her fur?" Maya murmured as she came closer to the other cats. Her dark brown eyes sparkled mischievously as she looked from one cat to the other.

Ravendance's fur rose a little as two others came into the clearing, both strangers to her, and by their scent, loners. She positioned herself so that she could see both of them. "I lost my lunch, but no harm done." She answered the other femme, her voice rather curt.
ooc- sorry, my muse is sort of shot today. [/blockquote]

Unseen high above the heads of the three cats, a fourth feline was perched comfortably high up in his loft. On such a hot day, the shaggy golden-brown tom was sweltering, even so high up in the shady coolness within the willow tree. Feeling quite lethargic, he did nothing other than look curiously down at the other three. His long tail hung down from his perch lazily, swinging to and fro calmly. His amber eyes were only half open, as if he was extremely tired. But in fact, he was wide awake, he just always had a certain bored demeanor. An irregular breeze blew by, and he wrinkled his nose in discomfort as the hot air ruffled his pelt and brushed past his skin. He was shedding more in the recent hot weather, but it didn't seem like it was happening fast enough, for he was still unfomfortable in his thick fur.

"Oh well that's not too bad." Maya meowed. "There is plenty of prey out here, so it won't be too hard to find more." As the femme spoke, a small breeze carried the scent of another cat to her. And if she wasn't mistaken, this other cat was above their heads, in the trees. She looked up, her dark brown eyes gleaming with curiosity as she scanned the trees for forms of life. Then she spotted him; a shaggy brown tom was perched in a willow tree. "What are you doing up there?" She called, her voice taken over by an amused chuckle. She then looked back at the other femme and tom and meowed, "Oh by the way, my name is Maya. What are your names?"

Curiosity sparked in her yellow audits as well, and she looked up as Maya spoke to the tom. "Ravendance," She answered the other femme's question, looking around to the other tom beside her, and the tom in the trees. [/blockquote]

He shook his head suddenly as if water droplets clung to it, little hairs flying off of his face and floating upwards slowly through the air. Then he drew a pink tongue around his upper lip quickly, licking the base of his whiskers in the process. "I live here." He said simply, standing up on his perch. "I'm Rex." He added, tilting his head curiously and looking down at them. After a few slow bobs of the head, he seemed to have decided that their company was safe. In a few fluid motions, he was weaving effortlessly downwards, hopping from higher branch to lower branch over and over again. With one last leap, he landed rather un-gracefully, barely catching himself on his paws and half stumbling, half lurching forward to stand near them. This time he did a full body shake, as if this unsightly landing had left burrs in his fur. Opening his eyes, the tom looked over at them and blinked his bright amber orbs slowly, his lips pulling back to reveal two rows of short, sharp teeth as he grinned sheepishly. [/blockquote]

"Well its nice to meet both of you, Ravendance, Rex." Maya meowed, dipping her head to each as she said their names. The femme smiled sheepishly back at the tom when he came down from the trees. Then she sat down, blinking her dark brown eyes as she twitched her sand colored tail.

Rex sat down as Maya did, twisting suddenly and sharply to gnaw at a spot above his tail. Then he passed his tongue over the spot a few times, roughly, and turned back around again. It looked like he was going to sit still again, but then he reached up with a hindleg and swiveled his head sideways to scratch furiously at the side of his face. [/blockquote]

Maya chuckled slightly as she watched the tom's antics, her dark brown eyes displaying her amusement. Bored with sitting down, the femme lay down on her stomach for a few seconds, then growing bored, quickly flipped over onto her back. She stretched her front paws high above her head, sighing. She looked at the sky through the branches overhead. The white, fluffy clouds were moving quickly, forming shapes only to break them up again. [/blockquote]

Amusement glittered in Ravendance's eyes, a smile on her maw. It seemed as if everyone was content with one another, so Ravendance let herself relax, allowing herself to trust these other cats. None of them smelled of a Clan, so it should be peaceful between them. She stretched her forelegs in front of her, her tail curling and her jaws parting in a yawn. Then the black femme sat down, her tail wrapping around her paws. "Such a lovely day," She mewed, not really to anyone in particular. [/blockquote]

Rex froze, his hindleg hovering beside his face. "Yeah." He agreed, setting his paw back on the ground and looking back and forth between the two females. He followed Maya's upward gaze and saw the racing clouds overhead. They were wispy, and didn't really look that interesting as they looked like smoke blowing by. After staring at them for a few minutes, he brought his eyes back down to look around, his ears pricked and eyes wide to see if there was anything nearby trying to sneak up on him. He was just naturally paranoid, there was nothing really there.
After realizing this he yawned, breaking the tension he might have created, and he drew his pink tongue around his muzzle again. Life was all good in greenleaf, but he hated how terribly boring it got. His tail flicked around behind him, and he swatted at it with playfully, rolling backwards while it flicked over his head. He reached up with a forepaw to bat at it once more and then got distracted again when he realized that this was perfect dust for a dust bath. He started rolling around, kicking up dirt every which way, probably showering his companions in the process. [/blockquote]

Maya jumped up in surprise as dust came flying into her. She looked over at Rex, her eyes narrowed playfully. "I'll get you for that." She murmured, her voice playful. Mischief danced in her dark brown eyes as the dust landed on her pelt. It was hard to tell the dust was there at all due to the color of her fur. Without warning, she jumped on top of Rex, swatting his head lightly with her paw, making sure to keep her claws sheathed. Before he could do anything, she jumped away again, landing not too far away, throwing up a cloud of dust. She looked back at the tom as if challenging him to a mock fight. [/blockquote]

The shaggy golden tom shook his head in surprise, still laying on his back. He hadn't even had time to react to the quick surprise pounce. Rex smirked mischieviously, rolling to his feet. "Is this a challenge I see?" He growled playfully. Without even a bit of consideration for strategy, he leaped across the small space separating them and tackled the female, sending her rolling backwards. The two cats rolled right into Ravendance in fact, and Rex chuckled as he reached down and batted playfully at one of Maya's ears and then flicked his tail in Ravendance's face. [/blockquote]
