Darksky padded out of the camp, inhaling deeply and letting the rich scents overwhelm him. Once again he had nothing to do. He continued walking for a while until he saw the shadow of something large looming in front of him. He immediately felt his fur bristle, but relaxed when he saw that it was just the herb tree. He could smell the strong scents of different kinds of herbs and wondered how he couldn't have noticed that he was just about to walk into a tree. He could feel his ears burning with embarrassment, taking a look around just in case anybody saw the humiliating incident.

The gentle calm. The beautiful bliss. The tranquil serenity. All things of the forest blooming with life around the large Herb Tree. Birds sang their sweet meoldies, begging for wandering senses to listen to their cheerful tunes. A gentle breeze stirred, running through the trees with its invisible currents. the long emerald grass swayed ever so gracefully, letting the brezze control its gentle, mesmorizing motions. The leaves and branches of the trees, along with the large Herd Tree rattled as they collided against their neighbords. With a noise, a robin took flight, bursting from the branches of the large tree beneath which the beautiful orange adn white she-cat lay, letting the tall blades tickle her, brushing against her medium length, silken fur. Her lids opened halfway, her captivating hazel gaze sweeping peacefully and contently over the small area in which she was located. Life was all around her. The scent of the many various herbs hung thick in the air. Sides expand as she inhaled deeply, as the contracting with her slow release, letting the air from her lungs enter the atmosphere around her.
She was ever tranqui, ever peaceful. An angel of calm spirit. Balanced perfectly in mind, body, and spirit. Never did she rage, for she alone was in control of the emotions which she expressed herself and her thoughts with. And as of now, as usual, she lay there as peaceful and calm as her clan knew her to be. The sound of another's paws caused her ears and whiskers to twitch, and her hazel eyes to open fully. And there, she saw Darksky. A handsome tom. with a good heart and spirit about him. She watch his body's actions, a small, calm smile forming upon her features. As he looked about, she remained silent for a few moments more before letting her silken, honey-like, serene voice fill the air.
" Hello, Darksky."

Darksky froze upon hearing the greeting. He turned to see a she-cat, a beautiful one at that, who lay beneath the herb tree a few fox-lengths away. Any other cat would have noticed the peaceful surrounding and the beauty of the nature, but the only beauty he noticed was the she-cat before him. He racked his brain, trying to remember her name. "Rosepetal."he thought. "Hello Rosepetal." he meowed cheerfully. He padded forward until he was standing just a few mouse-lengths away. "Mind if I lay down for a while?" he asked. He could feel the soft grass ticking his paws, inviting him to lie on it, but that wasn't the only reason he wanted to do it.

The gentle calm that surrounded the Herb Tree was something of a wonder and splendor. Rosepetal so dearly enjoyed the calm and splendor that wrapped this small area so beautifully. Sure, the rest of Meadowclan's territory was beautiful. But she could never really compare them all. She loved and relished in all of what nature had to offer. She loved the sweet scent of the flowers and the fresh grass. She loved the sounds of the crickets on a newleaf night. And in the morning and afternoon, the sweet, cheerful tune of the forest birds filled the air around them. And seeing as Herb Tree was one of the few trees that was located well within Meadowclan territory, there was always a large number of songbirds around. Perhaps that was why Rosepetal loved being beneath the Herb Tre. Perhaps, it was the sweet and various songs of te birds that rested within the branches of the large tree... But then again, who could say for certain? Rosepetal wasn't even completely sure if that was the reason this place brought her such a serene and tranquil feeling, more so than she usually was if they were ever a possiblity.
She had thought about love every once in a while. Like most all she-cats, she hoped to one day find a mate, and have a little or two with that special tom that captued her heart. She didn't fall easily, but she simply felt those that she thought being with. And Darksky... She had thoguht of him several times, and he just seemed to feel right for her. But she remained silent about these emotions. She knew not if he was in love with another she-cat. And the very last thing Rosepetal ever wanted to do was ruin a new love. She was the last who would ever intrude or impose. Whether or not her feelings for Darksky were truly love and a longing to be at his side, she would wait as patiently as she always have, waiting for the answer to come to her. Waiting to find out if somewhere within Darksky's handsome form, there was love for her in return, and no other. But if he did by chance love another, she would lock said feelings away, and perhaps she might never love again. She didn't need, per say, to have a mate and kits. She wished to have them one day, but if never that day found her, she would survive without them. She heard his voice and watched as he padded up to her, putting a mere few mouse-lengths between himself and Rosepetal. She offered a sweet, tender smile, captivating hazel gaze meeting his. He spoke again, and she nodded.
" Please do."
She flashed him another calm but radiant smile and waited for him to settle himself with her.

Darksky nodded and lay down on the soft grass. He was absolutely captivated by Rosepetal. He felt a strong sense of rightness whenever he was with her. Never had he felt such strong emotions welling up inside him, threatening to overwhelm him if uncontrolled, too strong, too profound for words to express. Even the simplest gestures she made, such as her smiles, warmed him from the inside out. He was aware of the ambiance about them, which only served to heighten the mood, though it seemed to him that the she-cat before him was the most relative thing in the world, and when their eyes had met he looked at her as such. And he knew with all his heart that this was the cat that he wanted to spend the remainder of his life with. All this he also kept to himself for fear of rejection. He remained silent, for it was enough to him just to be close to her.

The heart of an angel. The gentlness of the white tuffs of clouds that lazily and sluggishly floated within the vast baby blue expanse of sky over the territory. Gentle and beautiful like a babbling river, though fierce was the warrior and defender within Rosepetals soul. Calm and tranquil though she may be, it took but a single threat to her clan's safety to bring out the fierceness no one would wish to reckon with. She was ever loyal to her clan, and though they were without a leader, she desired to see after the daily events that went on. With hunting done, and the other warriors out on patrols and some within the camp to keep the kits and elders safe, she had the chance to relaz herself, and find her spiritual balance and further strengthen it.
But as Darksky rested himself close to her, the scent og him ever soothing to her senses, she found that he in fact seemed to give her that spiritual completeness she could never reach without the tender, loving affection and devotion of a mate. And as she lay there, watching him gently with her captivating hazel eyes, she saw in him a weariness, but admiration, and possibly adoration in his eyes. And her hazel gaze reflected her feelings of this spiritual completeness she felt only with him, the calm that engulfed her was unlike any other she'd ever felt hen by herself or with other clanmates. And despite the fact his words didn't come, her analytical nature and sense of emotion from the tension in his body told her all she needed to know. And perhaps, she should finally profess for him that she....
She kneaded the soft grass with her paws as she slay there, comtemplating what to say. And finally, with a gentleness to her hazel eyes, gazing into his own, she had found what she should speak.
" Darksky?"
A calm pause.
" Have you ever felt utterly and simply complete in the presense of someone, and only when that someone was near?"
Her eyes flashed with interest, and hope that maybe, he would understand, and perhaps show her that she had thought right about his feelings for her. She had always wanted to have a mate, and all this time, ever since apprenticeship, Rosepetal had never looked at another the way she did Darksky. And so, her tail curling and uncurling slowly, she gazed curiously and gently into his own eyes, awaiting his response that would hopefully come soon.

Darksky listened to her smooth, silken voice fill the silence. He pondered the question for a few moments, contemplating what to say. She had summed up everything that he was feeling with a few simple words. "Yes, I have. In fact, that is exactly what I am feeling at this very moment, and what I would like to feel for the rest of my life." he said, eyes shining with adoration for Rosepetal.

For a moment, Rosepetal could swear she felt time stop. The winds stopped blowing through her silken orange and white fur as she lay near Darksky, the one cat she would ever truly love. She believed in love happening over a period of time. And ever since they had been apprentices together, she had found herself attracted toward him, something she had never grown out of, and something that would most likely never change. She knew that the infatuation and adoration she had felt for him then had grown into something beautiful, and yet goen without profession for so long... She had decided she would let it kindle over a longer period of time, though never had she been able to look away from his gaze easily whenever their eyes met. She knew love at first sight was not completely true. But after seeing him day in and day out, going on hunting and territory patrols, she found herself to be in love with him. It was true, honest, sweet love.
She kneaded the soft grass beneath her paws, shifting her shoulders and haunches, itching to be closer to him, to rest her paw atop his own. She felt the want to devote herself not only to her clan, but to him. And perhaps, if he did feel the same way, it wouldn't be long before she was fully completed, and perhaps even expecting kits... The thoguht brought an unknown and undefined joy to her heart as her hazel eyes watched him thinking to himself. And soon, she heard his words, and her heart melted. A soft, tender smile formed, adn her eyes shone with love and devotion.
" Oh, Darksky..." She scooted closer on her belly, letting her paw rest atop his own, stretching forward to lich the bridge of his nose tenderly. When she pulled back, eyes shining brightly with happiness and affection, she let her voice ring out again.
" I've felt the same way. For a long time... And to be honest, I never really stopped having feelings for you... I was hoping this day would come."
Her voice ceased, but each note had been so filled with happiness and joy, it would be clearn to any that this was what she had always dreamt of... To be in love.

For too long a time Darksky had looked at Rosepetal with a certain feeling blooming inside him. One which he didn't have a name for until this day. He finally realized that it was love. He could feel it inside of him, trying to push its way out.
He felt the lick send shivers down his spine. He had never really expected this day to come, but that didn't mean that he didn't like it. In fact, he treasured every moment he spent with the she-cat he just recently realized that he loved. And those few moments were absolutely perfect.
