Dark brown, almost black paws hit the ground in a regular rhythm, throwing up little clouds of dust as a tom ran along the border. His mint green eyes were searching for something... water. The sun had been unbearably warm lately, so the tom had been unable to find enough water or prey. His normally muscular body was now starting to slim down. With prey being harder to find, Aidan had been having a hard time finding enough prey for both him and his sister, Maya. He wasn't even sure where she was now. She was somewhere in the uncharted territory when he had decided to go looking for prey and water.
The tom stopped suddenly as a scent came to him. Another cat. He was in clan territory, so he had no way of knowing whether this cat would be friendly or not. For all he knew, it was a clan cat who would tear him apart just form stepping paw on their territory. But then again, the cat might take sympathy on his and decide not to attack. Aidan was strong, so he stayed where he was, willing to take his chances. He would just wait for the cat to approach.

Through this drought, Fogwhisper has become even more intolorable. She snaps at the others, and has been doing patrols solo. Her best friend, Brackendust, is worried, but not as worried as he would have been if Heathersong was out of the picture. She started to resent Heathersong; she doesn't like Brackendust like that, but she did miss her best friend. As she swam through her thoughts, a scent hit her like a baseball bat. 'A stranger,' She thought, very cross. She started to lope toward the smell. When she could see the outline of a shadow, she slowed down. She may be impatient, but she was wary. She slowed to a stop when the shadow became more detailed. "What are you doing here?" She asked, her voice clear, cut, and cold. She tensed her muscles, and bristled.

The tom looked at the she-cat as she approached. Although she sounded hostile, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be able to defend himself if it came to a fight. She looked small, almost delicate. He stayed calm even as she asked what he was doing. Aidan wasn't going to let her upset him. "My name is Aidan," he murmured, his maw twisted into a grin. "I was just out looking for water and prey. I'm sure you have been finding it more difficult to support yourself during the drought too." Aidan sat down, trying to show the femme that he was not a threat. "So who are you?" He asked, mint green eyes filled with curiosity.

Fogwhisper sat down as well, but hardly relaxed. But something did change; her silver/gray eyes, always as cold as stone, and guarded well, softened into a pool of silvery liquid. That was something rare, and usually unseen. A slight breeze tickled her ears, playing with her short, brown fur, making the russet dance between her pelt. She finally spoke. "I am, Fogwhisper of MeadowClan. You must leave our territory." She murmured, a bit reluctant. She liked this tom. He seemed kind, patient. Someone she could easily get used to.

"But surely you would not deny me the chance of finding some water?" Aidan asked, mint green eyes following the she-cat. The small breeze ruffled his dark brown fur, and caused his eyes to water slightly. He looked down at his paws for a moment, shaking his head to clear away any moisture around them. Then she looked back up at the femme, a small smile forming as his green eyes softened. Although the femme was delicate, there was something about her that he liked. He just couldn't quite place his paw on it....

She saw the smile play in his eyes, and she knew she couldn't refuse. She opened her maw, smellign anything that might indicate a fellow clanmate coming. When she knew the coast was clear, she beckoned with her tail for him to follow. She arrived shortly at a pile of fox dung. She made a mental note to report of fox when she went back to camp. "Roll in it," She ordered. "I can't have your scent all around MeadowClan." She smiled teasingly.

Aidan wrinkled his nose as the disgusting smell hit him. His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked down at the dung, but he knew the femme was right. If the Meadowclan cats knew he was in their territory, they could attack him. He lowered his body into the dung and rolled around for a few seconds. The tom then sprang to his paws, shaking his body, as if hoping it would diffuse the smell a little. He wrinkled his nose again and murmured. "Ok, now what?" He looked at the femme as he asked the question, his eyes softening again despite the sickening stench that came from his body. [/blockquote]

Fogwhisper's dainty nose wrinkled up a bit. "I walk a few steps away," She teased. She once sniffed the air before taking off, expecting Aiden to follow her quick speed. "Come on." She mewed playfully over her shoulder. This loner, this stranger, has taken a toll on Fogwhisper. But her heart melted at the sight of him. 'I like him,' She realized, awestruck. 'Alot.'

Aidan chuckled as the small femme joked around. As she dashed away into the territory, he followed her. Although she had started running before him, his long strides quickly made up the ground between them. He glanced sideways at her, his mint optics gleaming. He couldn't remember ever liking someone as much as he liked her. [/blockquote]

Fogwhisper felt his gaze upon her, but she dare not turn. Mostly, she was nervous, but secondly, he did smell not so good. Soon, they came infront of Whisper Creek; it's melodic sound softened as the drought took its own toll on nature itself. She had lost some fate in DreamClan, but she still believed a miracle would at least happen. "Drink while I stay watch," She commanded, feeling slightly foolish. She watched him while he drank.

Aidan's ears pricked up as he listened to the sounds coming from the creek. It almost seemed as if it were alive and talking. The tom didn't look at the femme, but instead, looked down at the running water. He crouched down to take a drink of the refreshing water, then stood up and looked at the femme again. Water droplets were gathered on his whiskers as he meowed, "Thank you so much for that. If there is anything I could ever do to repay you..." He let off, not knowing how he could possibly repay someone for giving up even just a little of their precious water during such a drought. [/blockquote]

Fogwhisper bent her head down, feeling the rushing hotness of embarrassment creep up her neck. "I'll let you know..." She murmured, trailing off, lost for words. She let Whisper Creek play it's song, and listened to the other creatures chime in. 'Amazing; in such a drought, the creatures still sing their life.' She thought in absolute wonder. She started singing along, softly.
"Come along, and sing with me Dance with me A mystery Come along and sing with me Dance with me A mystery Traveling the world Singing my song Nothing can do me wrong Just come along; Sing this song... Come along to dance with me A simple... melody..... A song meant for you and me..... Come along and sing me with me Dance with me..... A mystery...." She started the song in an upbeat, quiet tune. As she drew it out, she let herself get louder, and make her song softer, slower. She lost herself in her melody, letting nothing but the music flow through her.

Aidan watched the femme, a curious look showing in his mint green eyes. He blinked, his ears pricked as he listened to the femme and the song of the creek. There was no wind, but the fur on his spine prickled up as the tom got the chills. He had never heard anything as beautiful as the voice of the femme. He said nothing, but just continued to gaze at Fogwhisper. [/blockquote]

Suddenly feeling self-concious, Fogwhisper watched the tom watch her. "What?" She asked, defensive. She usually doesn't open herself up like that, and was confused why she did. 'What is happening...' She wondered, knowing no ordinary crush could have done this. 'Do I love him... Do I love this stranger...'

The tom shook his head at the defensive tone in her voice. "Sorry..." He murmured, mint optics directed toward the ground. He sighed, not knowing what to say. Then he looked back up at the femme. "I couldn't help but look at someone so beautiful." [/blockquote]
