Echostar came to a halt at the border usual.She was even more anxsious to see him than normal ever since the gathering.Her clan hadn't noticed her slip out of the camp just like always,but it dawned on her that if they didn't notice her leaving,they might not notice danger coming.She hoped Flamestar would come tonight.She was dying to see him.

Flamestar slipped out of the camp, careful to cover up his tracks. Now that he was the clan leader, he needed to be much more cautious with things like this. He headed towards the border that separated BlazeClan from FernClan, instinctively knowing that she would be there. When he got there, he scented FernClan, but he didn't need to see to know who it was. There she stood, as beautiful as ever. "Echostar!." he purred, giving her a few affectionate licks. "Blazingkit received his apprentice name." he smiled, the pride obvious in his face. [/size] |

"Flamestar!"she sqealed in return,and couldn't help giving a little jump of excitement.It was so good to see him again,his flame colored pelt outlined in silver in the moonlight.She was so lucky to have him."I know,I almost sqealed right in the middle of the gathering when you said it! I can't believe we both became clan leader!"she exclaimed."Blazingpaw,Amberpaw,and Mintpaw."she said,her voice bubbling with pride."Our kits will be such amazing warriors,"she purred.Thankfully,Amberkit was still small,but had grown to an adverage size,so Echostar was no longer worried about her.

Flamestar chuckled at her comment, but he wondered how the knowledge that they were half-clan would affect their kits. He shook the though away and focused on relishing his moment with Echostar. Since they had become leaders, they hardly ever saw each other anymore. He missed her so much...... They had to find a way to be together without breaking any rules..... He sighed for the umpteenth time. "I love you." he said, unable to think of anything else more suited to say at the moment. [/size] |

"And I love you."Echostar replied and nuzzled him."Forever and always." She enjoyed being clan leader,but it was tough. But not tough like other cats would expect. Not because the responsibilities were bearing down on her. No,that was pretty easy for her. The hard part was trying to squeeze in time with Flamestar between her duties as leader. Seeing him less was extremely hard,because with thoughts of when she would see him next filling her head,it was hard to concenetrate on her clan. Thankfully enough,nothing had happened between Blazeclan and Fernclan yet. Echostar had thought it would be hard for her to fight her mate's clan as a warrior,but as a leader it would be even tougher. What if Blazeclan did something that would make us need to fight? Her clan would expect her to fight. Hopefully,that would never happen.

Flamestar found himself reassured with Echostar's words. Once again, he found his thoughts drifting to running away with her, but only this time, taking their kits with them. But of course, they couldn't do that, now more than ever. Their clans needed them as much as they needed each other, and there was nothing any of them could do about it. For a second, he wondered if it were possible for BlazeClan and FernClan to form a sort of allegiance. Then maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they were together and everyone knew about it. And since they were both leaders, the idea was not that far off, but there would obviously be many complications. He shook his head at the ridiculousness of the idea. |

Echostar noticed a kind of distant look on Flamestar's face that told her that he was thinking hard about something. "What are you thinking about?"she asked. She looked up at the sky. The moon was still nearly at its peak;they had plenty of time.

"No,no,It wasn't stupid,we just can't though." Echostar reasurred him. " I know,I wish it was different two. It just makes me so frustrated that we can't be together just we're in different clans. As long as we stay loyal to out own clans,I don't see what's so bad about it."
