[OOC: *Copies Fallen for the moment, since there's no other way she'd be able to type that huge of a response without splitting it up into sections and not sounding like a dork. xD*]
A thousand years gone by
Too late to wonder why
I'm here alone...
Rose, rose, rose, red
Will I ever see thee wed?
I will marry at thy will, sire.
At thy will.
Too late to wonder why
I'm here alone...
Lunapaw didn't respond to Midnightpaw's challenge. She was too exhausted. Grief for her dead mother seemed to swamp her now that her mind was seeking sleep, and she didn't even look up when the tom made his way inside the den. Her mind was racing with her own thoughts... what would happen now? Would the wolves follow her here? She hoped not. These cats had been good to her, she didn't want to repay them by bringing the wolves here. Sighing, she curled up into a tighter ball of fur and closed her eyes. Almost instantly blackness weighed her mind and she fell headfirst into a dream.
If in my darkest hour,
She rose that fell a flower,
I should have known...
She rose that fell a flower,
I should have known...
Lunapaw opened her eyes to find herself wandering through an unfamiliar forest, though the rich Greenleaf smells made her purr with delight. She stopped when the undergrowth near her left side began to quiver and out stepped.... "mom!" Lunapaw yowled happily. She ran to her mother's side, delighted that her mother had come to see her. Midnight purred, stardust sprinkled her fur and light shined in her eyes and at her paws. "I'm glad to see you've found a new home, my sweet." Mother and daughter pressed themselves together and the purring was loud. "Mom... why did you have to die?" Midnight's eye's clouded. "I died to save you, sweet heart. I suppose you could say it was my time." She murmured. "But don't fret, dear one. You have a new name now, and a new home, and I am very proud of you." Lunapaw was about to reply when a deep voice mewed from behind her. "As am I."
Will I ever see thee wed?
I will marry at thy will, sire.
At thy will.
She spun around to be face to face with a huge black tom with white paws, tail tip, and a white dash on his chest and nose. Lunapaw blinked, looking up into the tom's warm amber eyes. ".... Daddy?" The Tom nodded. "My name was Shadestar." He meowed. "I came to collect Midnight, but seeing you with a new clan, alive and strong and safe... it has filled me with pride." Shadestar moved to stand beside Lunapaw and the two cats twined tails as they looked down at her. "We will watch your paw steps, Lunapaw. Even will you feel alone, you never will be, for we will be with you... in here." Shadestar bent down to touch her nose to Lunapaw's chest. Lunapaw swelled with happiness and Shadestar's eyes glowed as he looked into her face briefely. "Come on Midnight, we must join the DreamClan cats." He mewed before leaping up into the sky and disappearing as a flash of light.
Here in my web of dreams,
My whispers turn to screams...
My whispers turn to screams...
Midnight walked with Lunapaw back to the nest in the apprentices den, and when Lunapaw laid down, Midnight licked her forehead and curled up around her so that Lunapaw could snuggle into her warm fur that smelled so familiar. Tiredness swept through her and she fell into a deeper, dreamless sleep.
